We went to Bucksnort in Port Alberni for a 70th birthday on the patio—and left with full bellies and a very good reason to come back. 🤠

Inside, it’s got that cowboy-country vibe: warm wood, quirky décor and signs with a sense of humour. Even the trip to the bathroom comes with a little sass. “Women are always right”? Finally, directions I can get behind. 😉

Then there’s the food. Our table had burgers, fish and chips, calamari, chicken strips with Caesar salad, and a steak dinner. Let’s just say nobody was staring sadly at a tiny plate wondering where the rest of supper went. This was a come-hungry situation—and it was so good.

We enjoyed celebrating outside on the patio, but I wish I’d taken more photos inside. There’s plenty of character tucked into this place, and my camera clearly got distracted by lunch. Fair enough.

Good food, a fun atmosphere and a little country charm—Bucksnort gave us a lovely afternoon and earned itself a return visit.

We’ll definitely be back. Stretchy waistbands may be involved. 🐻🔥
