We'll Never Judge Dessert First.🍩

Worth the sugar rush. 🍩

You can’t do Coombs without a stop at the Old Country Market — goats on the roof, wandering through the shops, and of course… doughnuts!

Right beside the market is Billy G’s Doughnuts, a tiny walk-in, grab-your-doughnuts-and-go kind of place. Naturally, we had to investigate. Strictly for research purposes. 😏

We grabbed a box, picked our favourites and quickly discovered that buying doughnuts to “save for later” was wildly optimistic.

No regrets. Finn approved. 🐾🍩

Billy G’s Doughnuts — Coombs, BC 🍩 🐐

We stopped for doughnuts. Apparently self-control stayed in the car.

Some stops are worth the sugar rush. 😋

🍩 Cumberland Village Bakery — Cumberland
An old-school Vancouver Island bakery and a perfect road-trip sugar stop. Famous for its glazed Cumberland donuts and classic bakery treats.

🥐 Steiner Bakery — Campbell River
A true Campbell River classic and one of those places that has been part of the community for years. Their sausage rolls have been my favourite since I was a kid — flaky, savoury and seriously good. The donuts are excellent too, and their fresh sandwiches make it just as worthwhile for lunch as it is for a sweet treat. Come hungry — there’s a lot more here than just baked goods.

🍥 Old Town Bakery — Ladysmith
Famous for its cinnamon buns and made-from-scratch treats. A must-stop when wandering through downtown Ladysmith — and good luck leaving with only one thing.

🍦 Discovery Fishing Pier Ice Cream Shop — Campbell River
A Campbell River summer classic. Grab one of their famously huge ice cream cones, walk the pier and take in the views across Discovery Passage.

🍦 Blue Spruce Ice Cream — Downtown Courtenay
Small-batch, handcrafted ice cream with seriously good flavours. A perfect sweet stop while wandering around downtown Courtenay.

🍞 Mom’s Bakery — Union Bay
A cozy little Union Bay stop with that classic homemade bakery feel. Fresh-baked goodies, sweet treats and the kind of place that’s worth pulling over for when you’re travelling the old Island Highway.

🥐 Healthyway — Campbell River
Okay, technically this isn’t a bakery stop — but the scones deserve a spot of their own. They’re one of my absolute favourites, and I have the photos to prove it. 😏
